The Butters Hygienics- Scar & Tattoo Healing Balm Review

Another Great Product by a Great Company

I received another product to test from The Butters Hygienics Co. and I couldn’t be more in love with it! In case you missed my last review, The Butters Hygienics products are 100% Vegan. The Scar and Tattoo Healing Balm is also scent, dye, paraben, alcohol, gluten, and phthalate free. Like their slogan states it is ‘100% Bullsh*t Free’.

What’s in the Tub…

This adorable little container is 2 oz of healing magic. The balm consists of shea butter, blue agave, calendula oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, soy oil, palm oil, bee’s wax, and vitamin e. I love the multiple use factor of this balm. It works on repairing the skin from scars and stretch marks and makes tattoos look healthy and vibrant.

Don’t Let the Look Fool You

When I opened the jar I was a little concerned that something was wrong with the balm. I wasn’t expecting to see little beads inside it. I was relieved to see a disclaimer on the jar stating that the product was good until it turned a grey color or smelled stale. It didn’t have any smell and was a bright yellow so I was safe to commence testing.

Melt, Rub, and Reapply

I’ll be honest I had a lot of fun playing with this balm. My first test I put a small amount into the palm of my hand and rubbed my hands together and like magic everything melted into this slick oil. I applied it to my forearm tattoos on both arms and rubbed in in. The oil absorbed quickly and my skin felt so soft all day long. I didn’t reapply the oil the first time as I wanted to be sure I wouldn’t have any type of reaction.

You can see from the photo above that a little but goes a long way. There are a couple ways to use the balm. It can be applied once daily or reapplications can be applied as you see fit. My preference is to use it after my shower and the vibrancy of my tattoos lasts all day.

I have a lot of stretch marks, aka tiger stripes, from carrying my son. To see if this would make a difference on the marks, I used it daily after my shower and rubbed it in until it was absorbed. After about a week, I noticed that the marks had faded some and they were not itching like they used to when my skin got too dry. I have kept up the routine for a couple of weeks and I am very pleased with the results.

Final Thoughts

I am happy to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for products that are handcrafted, vegan and great quality. The price of their products are very affordable as this jar can be found on for $7.00. Grab a jar while supplies last by clicking here.
